Manufacturing company partners with Marvel to encourage recycling
Textile manufacturing company Unifi Inc. has announced a partnership with Marvel , the Detroit Lions and UNC Chapel Hill as part of an educational recycling initiative. The initiative will showcase Unifi's REPREVE brand of recycled fibers via interactive displays, according to a press release.
This initiative, known as the #TurnItGreen tour, will make stops at various schools, retailers and entertainment and sporting events. Throughout the tour, the company will utilize interactive displays to showcase how Unifi turns plastic bottles into recycled fibers. There will also be iPad kiosks on site to allow visitors to share their experiences on social media.
"We are thrilled to kick off our multi-stop #TurnItGreen mobile experience, engaging with kids and adults as we educate them on how we transform recycled plastic bottles into products they can purchase from their favorite brands," said Roger Berrier, president and chief operating officer of Unifi Inc. "Since we began making REPREVE, we have recycled more than 4 billion plastic bottles into quality products people wear and use every day, and we anticipate the #TurnItGreen tour will help us continue to grow that number."
